Ingredients

  • 4 oranges, peeled and sectioned
  • 4 tbs sugar
  • 1/2 C water
  • 3/4 C claret wine
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1 3-inch stick cinnamon
  • 1 tbs fresh lemon juice

Directions

  • Place orange sections in a bowl. Set aside.
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine remaining ingredients.
  • Bring to a boil and simmer 5 minutes. Pour over orange sections.
  • Cool slightly, cover and refrigerate about 4 hours or overnight.
  • Remove whole spices and serve cold.
